Massachusetts drivers are amongst the worst drivers in the country. At least once every two weeks there is a feature article on the news with facts about the most dangerous cities to drive in and Boston is always in the top 5.
Identify Countermeasures:
Simplify, Simplify and Simplify using a marketing concept that would create “a tipping point”. The starting point would be Stoughton MA, passing through the South Shore communities along route 139, and ending in the Villages of Brant Rock & Green Harbor. We will Target towns on this route, monitoring participation of sponsors and retrieving safety data.

This unique program will be visiting schools; and child care centers, as a result children will be educating their parents when driving, teaching courtesy habits.
A custom puppet has been made with highest quality, the waving hand, with its flashing headlights, controlled when the sensor is squeezed.
Our goal is to manufacture smaller puppets to accompany children in cars while participating "flashing headlights, waving and smiling.
A signature 1978 VW Super Beetle convertible, school bus yellow, with large colorful decal on the doors, will draw any mother with kids to turn in to see the puppet handing out free balloons.

Self sufficient plan:
Volunteers will be selling bumper stickers, a percentage of the sale goes to nonprofit groups using it as a tool in fundraising. This will be a way to get the word out promoting to retail stores and nonprofit's at a discount rate.Our mascot will passing out free information brochures and yellow balloons, at supermarkets, Malls, sporting events, and locations of supporting partners .
We will apply for grants and accept donations from partners and sponsors funding the cost of the program, and charge a fee for displaying the vehicle, puppet and mascot on their property.
Proposed partners:
Business members of the Local Chamber of Commerce.
Health and Auto Insurance companies.
Police and Fire Departments.
Trucking companies displaying a decal of their trailers.
Fast food businesses aware that their consumers have problems entering the roads.
The positive effect of the program:
Lessens minor fender benders
Savings on fuel, less time waiting to proceed entering the roadway
Looking in to Mass Registry Vanity Plate program with the logo and wording Courtesy is Contagious.
Being courteous letting drivers out makes them feel good about getting a wave and smile.
Less strain and demand on Fire and Police departments. The savings overall cost on the municipality.
Valuable court time will be reduced with less automobile accidents
Reduced road rage.
Children and their Parents interacting in a positive program for their community, seeing the actual results together on the road ways.
Heath Insurance will trickle down because of less injuries.
Auto Insurance claims would be less.
Letting drivers go with courtesy will lessen fender benders and prevent rubbernecking that slows traffic.
AAA tow truck service will be less of a demand.
Less time idling saves on the cost of fuel consumption.
Reducing the speed limit on major highways to 55 saves a tremendous amount of fuel for the country.

Retrieving the data from Mass Highway Public Safety and Safety Officers in the communities. A yearly report of the accidents, will show the partners and sponsors how this unique program has increased safety. We will witness flashing headlights, waving of the hands to go ahead and big smiles with " Courtesy is Contagious" traveling through out the country.
